Poetry 30/30 Project: Day 1

My first poem for Tupelo Press’s 30/30 project , A Fine Monsoon, is up at their website and here under the Poetry 30/30 page.  Thanks for tuning in!

It is going to be a good habit for me to write poems on a daily basis.  Putting this one together yesterday, I had to really fight my urge to edit too much as I went along.  I rarely let people read things that are this freshly written because I know if I had a few more days or weeks, it’d be better.  It feels like rushing out of the house without your hair done! Nevertheless, writing with the idea that this SHOULD be read, should be articulate, is good discipline. If you’re following along, leave me a comment or a “like” so I can get to know my readers. Also, I’m sure at some point I’ll run out of ideas for poems, so let me know if there’s a topic or image that you’d like to challenge me to tackle. Thanks readers!
